Mylopotamos Municipality Festival - A Celebration of Local Heritage!
This rich summer-long festival is a true "social renaissance" honoring the area's traditions.
From concerts and dances to performances, film screenings and more - there's something for everyone to enjoy!
Look forward to acclaimed artists from Crete and across Greece bringing their talents, including popular singers like Natassa Bofiliou, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Elena Paparizou, Elli Kokkinou, Anastasios Ramos, Elena Vitali, and local stars Loudovikos of Anogia, Michalis Tzouganakis, Stella Seiragaki and Manos Papadakis.
Amari Municipality's 9th Green Festival (July 19-22)
This small mountainous area is preparing a big 4-day cultural celebration!
In partnership with local village associations, the 9th Amari Green Festival promotes cultural heritage, circular economy and sustainable development through 49 engaging events.
The diverse program features hiking trails, talks, music/theatre shows, traditional craft workshops, exhibitions, film screenings and a fun 5X5 competition between villages. A central theme is the traditional Cretan wedding and its customs.
Co-organized with the Region of Crete, Rethymnon authorities, chambers and organizations - all Amari Green Festival activities are free for all to enjoy!
Cretan Wedding Traditions Brought to Life
A special festival section revives the age-old traditions of Cretan weddings. On July 19, the "Chest of Time" opens at Asomaton School, gathering old wedding photos, books, songs and poetry.
Then on July 20 in Agios Ioannis, witness the making of traditional wooden-oven wedding bread, filling the air with nostalgic aromas of the past.

"Yakinthia" festival celebrates its 26th year with a lineup of special events taking place in the open-air theater of Agios Yakinthos.
From July 26th-28th, talented artists, actors, dancers and musicians will ascend the mountain, promising unique and unforgettable nights under the stars. Here's what's in store:
