petits bonheurs 01 08 2024

Experience an enchanting evening of French classical music on August 7, 2024, at 21:00 in the Pantelis Prevelakis Hall, Rethymno Conservatory.

Cellist Michael Häupel and pianist Dora Manitaki present a diverse program showcasing the beauty of French music. The concert opens with solo cello works: Gaspar Cassadó's Suite, blending Spanish elements with French impressionism and echoing Ravel's "Daphnis et Chloé," and Alexander Tcherepnin's Suite, infused with Asian musical influences. The second half features shorter pieces for cello and piano, exploring the melodies of Ravel, the elegance of Fauré and Saint-Saëns, and the lyricism of Chopin.

City of Rethymno

You are invited to travel to areas, which are perhaps still unknown to the majority, and which are sometimes remote, but always magical and magnificent throughout the seasons. We recommend our visitors to see our picturesque villages through the eyes of the soul, try the Cretan cuisine, our wine and “tsikoudia”, participate in our revelries and festivities, but most importantly get to know our soul, our hospitality, the safe, untouched interior of the region, the other Rethymno.
