84th Arkadia Sports Event

Rethymno invites you to the 84th Arkadia Games, a special event held in memory of the Arkadi Monastery Holocaust.

Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Rethymno Municipal Stadium (Sochora) for a day of sports and remembrance, starting at noon.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2024

2:00 - 5:00 PM: Roller Skating Races at Gallou Sports Center

6:00 - 9:00 PM: Pick up Arkadia race materials at the Regional Unit of Rethymno,  Polytechniou Square

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2024

8:15 AM: Start of the Dynamic Walk for athletes along the Arkadia route from Arkadi Monastery

9:30 AM: Memorial Service led by the Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos at Arkadi Monastery

9:40 AM: Flame lighting by the Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avl Potamos 

10:00 AM: 1,000m Race for Special Needs Athletes, from Rethymno Port to Municipal Stadium (Sochora)

10:10 AM: 2,000m Race for middle school students, start and finish at Municipal Stadium (Sochora)

10:20 AM: 2,000m Race for high school students, start and finish at Municipal Stadium (Sochora)

10:30 AM: 6,000m Public Race, start and finish at Municipal Stadium (Sochora)

11:30 AM: Start of Arkadia Men’s and Women’s Race from Arkadi Monastery to Municipal Stadium (Sochora)

12:00 PM: Opening Ceremony for the 84th Arkadia Games.   All athletic events and awards
