The big feast in the ''heart'' of Crete, the 4th Amari Green Festival, is being organized for one more year in the villages of Amari, with a variety of cultural events! The Festival, with free entrance for all the visitors, is taking place from 20 until 24 of July with the vivid participation of inhabitants of the villages, scientists, local artists, and volunteers.

Coordinators of the Festival are the Municipality of Amari with the help of local cultural associations.

Amari Green Festival is a big celebration of culture, knowledge, environment, and countryside aiming to highlight all of the things that constitute the authentic Crete and the connection of civilizations.

A big part of the events of Amari Green Festival will be held in the Moni Asomaton- Panakronin the center of Amari, while other parallel actions will take place in the villages nearby.

Nature and archaeological history will have a central role in the Festival this year, while a lot of nature excursions are being organized around the villages and the rural area. At the same time, there will be exhibitions of folk art, historical photography and food tasting of traditional dishes promoting local gastronomy and high-quality products that are produced in Amari. The visitor will also have the opportunity to enjoy local performances by recognized singers and bands, theater and dancing.
