Rethymno held a special ceremony on March 9th. At this event, the Rethymno Chamber of Commerce gave awards to 11 excellent local businesses.
The awards showed how businesses in Rethymno are growing, looking outwards, and able to succeed even in tough economic times. They can overcome challenges and keep developing.
The awarded businesses were from different sectors like tourism, manufacturing, shipping and logistics, and food production.
This ceremony highlighted that Rethymno is a great place for businesses. The local companies are strong, innovative, and can thrive despite crises. Rethymno supports entrepreneurship and is an attractive destination for new business opportunities.
In the "Social Responsibility - Contribution to the Local Community" category, Rethymno entrepreneur Ioannis E. Generalis of the company "GERAKARI LAMASAT SA" was awarded.
In the embrace of the Cretan land, in the mountainous village of Gerakari in Rethymno, the Tourism - Construction company GERAKARI LAMASAT created the Elderly Care Unit "AGKALI HOMES".

In the "Modern and Ecological Production of Building Products" category, Rethymno entrepreneur Evangelos Tsourlakis of the company "Tsourlakis Tiles" was awarded.

In the "Correct Production Practices" category, Rethymno entrepreneur Dimitrios Ladakis of the company "A. Ladakis SA" was awarded.
Their products are daily placed in small and large supermarket chains and at the same time meet the needs of hotel units, traders, bakeries, pastry shops, catering and other food businesses throughout Greece.
In the "Integration of Research - Innovation in Business Activity" category, Rethymno entrepreneurs Aphrodite Lagkouvardou-Spantidaki and Maria Spantidaki of the company "LAGKOUVARDOU - SPANTIDAKI OE CHEMICAL ENGINEERING" were awarded.
