Get Ready to Savor the Finest Cretan Wines at Wines @ Fortezza!

Wine lovers are excited for the most extraordinary wine-tasting event of the year – Wines @ Fortezza, happening on June 21, 2023, from 7:30 PM to 11 PM. 

This incredible event promises to be a true celebration of Crete's rich winemaking heritage, offering a unique opportunity to delight themeselves in the island's most exquisite flavors and aromas.

The Municipality of Rethymnon, represented by the vice mayors Kostis Gasparakis from the Department of Tourism and  Manos Tsakonas from the department of Culture, is a member of the European Network of Wine Cities RECEVIN, and continues with its initiatives to dynamically support the Cretan Vineyard and strengthen the producers of our island, highlighting the unique quality local product and Cretan gastronomy as an integral part of our tourist destination

In this context, for the fourth year, the Municipality of Rethymnon and the Network of Wineries of Crete, organized on Friday 21 June an evening dedicated to the Cretan Vineyard, co-organized with the Region of Crete.

At the Wines of Crete @ Fortezza tasting event that will take place at the Fortress Fortezza in Rethymnon, wine lovers and wine professionals will have the opportunity to enjoy over 200 labels of bottled Cretan wine from wineries members of the Network of Wineries of Crete. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to taste Cretan and international varieties, new and old vintages, and meet the wine producers.

They will discover by tasting  local varieties   Vidiano, Liatiko, Thrapsathiri, Romeiko, Vilana, and other treasures of the Cretan Vineyard.

The exhibition will also include the Galeni - AFOI Zervou OE cheese dairy, which bears the "Crete" label, giving visitors the opportunity to taste quality Cretan cheeses.

The exhibition will be accompanied by live music with the talented artists Eleni Dramatinou and Tina Tsymbidis.

Hosted by the Municipality of Rethymno and  local wine producers,  Wines @ Fortezza invites you to embark on a journey through the vineyards of Crete. 

Get ready to tantalize your senses with a diverse array of fresh, vibrant wines that capture the essence of this Mediterranean paradise. 

From crisp whites to full-bodied reds, you'll have the chance to taste new varieties and discover hidden gems that will leave you craving for more.
