"Go Green" Running Race in Gerani Village

There will be a special running race happening in the village of  Gerani on Saturday, June 29th, 2024.

This "Go Green" race aims to promote protecting the environment.

The race is organized by the Gerani Cultural Association, the Gerani football team Poseidonas, and the local volunteers.

It is supported by the  Region of Crete, ,  Rethymno Municipality Sports Department,   Running Experiences, and the  Health Runners Association.

There will be three different race distances that people can enter:
1 km Kids' Race starts at 6:00 PM
10 km Race starts at 7:00 PM
5 km Race starts at 7:15 PM

The races will start and end at the central village square next to the Church of Agios Georgios.

After the races finish around 8:30 PM, there will be an awards ceremony to give cups to the winners of each race category.

This fun community event encourages physical activity while also raising awareness about taking care of the natural environment.
