Tourist Vocational Training in Rethymno's Department of Tourism
Throughout the years Rethymno Department of Tourism gives youth access to tourism projects connecting local and foreign teens with the destination and giving them practicing and learning skills.
The City of Rethymno understands the role of education and training in developing Rethymno's most important asset, our young people. Recently Rethymno's Department of Tourism hosted a group of Erasmus + young students from Poland.
Vocational training activities are a must in today's tourism industry. Without updated working skills, all other resources are ineffective, whether you are operating a family-owned taverna, a small business travel agent, or working for a large hotel, a destination should develop all the necessary requirements.
The Professional Training Institute of Rethymno (IEK) has chosen the department of tourism for the practice of the young students for their practical education in tourism adding to its program curriculum, visitors management. The Department of Tourism is very happy about IEK's initiative to give a working involvement to the practitioners and organize together programs.
Besides, young people from different European countries Leonardo da Vinci vocational education and training programs, students from the University of Crete choose Rethymno Tourism Bureau to implement their training programs in collaboration with other schools or organizations that implement Erasmus programs.
Through these internship programs, young trainees complement their knowledge and skills of these internship programs, and young trainees complement the knowledge and skills and gain practical experience like practicing a foreign language on the site along with the training classes. They also have the chance to participate in the promotion of major cultural activities such as the Cretan Diet and the Reconnaissance festival.
It is a great opportunity to demonstrate the tourism industry's basic functions at a local level and concentrate on their training efforts, with a strong commitment to the development of the needs and apply interactive learning throughout the info points.
