 Martsakis

In Crete, every summer, groups of people gather in the evenings to get together, to tell their stories, to sing love with mantinades!

Antonis Martsakis, invites all of us to become a big company in his own "Veggera", on Thursday, July 30 @ 21:00 on the Hill of Fortezza, Rethymno and with his voice and the sounds of his violin to travel throughout Crete!

A celebration and a sharing that we all need this special summer.

Antonis Martsakis will play Cretan music,  songs from older and modern Cretan creators from Kissamos to Sitia listening to Kissamitika Syrta, Rizitika, Rethimiotika Pentozalia, Contilles with Askomantura and sweet melodies with Mandolin.

The main performer will be Antonis Martsakis (violin, vocals) with his group:

Nikos Marentakis (lute), Kanaki Kozonaki (lute and vocals), Charalambos Pitropakis (ascomantoura, bandouraki and Sitian daoulaki), Fragoukanou ), Giannis Martsaki (thiampoli, mandolin).

Free of entrance

City of Rethymno

You are invited to travel to areas, which are perhaps still unknown to the majority, and which are sometimes remote, but always magical and magnificent throughout the seasons. We recommend our visitors to see our picturesque villages through the eyes of the soul, try the Cretan cuisine, our wine and “tsikoudia”, participate in our revelries and festivities, but most importantly get to know our soul, our hospitality, the safe, untouched interior of the region, the other Rethymno.
