 StrataofPsiloritis

Psiloritis, also known as Mount Ida, is the highest mountain range in Crete, Greece, and is a popular destination for hikers and mountaineers.
The Livadia route is one of the most popular routes up Psiloritis and is a challenging but rewarding trek.
From Nida Plateau, follow the marked path that leads to the summit of Psiloritis. The path is well-marked, but the terrain is rugged and rocky in places.
The final ascent to the summit is steep and requires some scrambling.

The beloved all-day event organized by the Cultural Association of Livadia and begins early in morning, at 5am.
The event is organized for the eighth consecutive year, with the support of the Municipality of Mylopotamos and the Region of Crete, and is free for all.

Every year around 3,500 to 4,000 people from all over Crete, as well as visitors from all over Greece and abroad,
participate in the event "The Stratas of Psiloritis".
At the Ligeros plateau traditional pilaf and cheese is prepared and offered to the people.

City of Rethymno

You are invited to travel to areas, which are perhaps still unknown to the majority, and which are sometimes remote, but always magical and magnificent throughout the seasons. We recommend our visitors to see our picturesque villages through the eyes of the soul, try the Cretan cuisine, our wine and “tsikoudia”, participate in our revelries and festivities, but most importantly get to know our soul, our hospitality, the safe, untouched interior of the region, the other Rethymno.
