Art exhibition by Eleni Ioannidou "DON'T"

"Rethymnon Days" and "Morphes Gallery" present the art exhibition of Eleni Ioannidou entitled "DON'T".

These artworks are made from thousands of pills and capsules. If the pills were not recycled and used to make art, they would pollute the environment.

This exhibition is inspired by the many wars happening around us that have now ended, like the wars in Syria, and Ukraine, and the situation in Palestine which has become genocide. These wars have become normal for us every day.

The artworks start with two ideas. The first idea tweaks classic movie posters to give an anti-war message. The second idea shows the human side of war through children saying "don't", young couples who cannot enjoy life because of war, and warriors fighting for justice.

Through this anti-war exhibition, the message is to take action, don't ignore it, have empathy, and be against war.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on 15/04/2024 at 19:00 and will be there until May 11, 2024.

The opening hours of the exhibition are the opening hours of the 'Morphes Gallery'.

The artist's work can be seen on her blog https://eleniioannidou.blogspot.com/

City of Rethymno

You are invited to travel to areas, which are perhaps still unknown to the majority, and which are sometimes remote, but always magical and magnificent throughout the seasons. We recommend our visitors to see our picturesque villages through the eyes of the soul, try the Cretan cuisine, our wine and “tsikoudia”, participate in our revelries and festivities, but most importantly get to know our soul, our hospitality, the safe, untouched interior of the region, the other Rethymno.
