Sea Turtle Beach Walk
Experience the wonders of Rethymno's sandy beach by booking a guided walk with an ARCHELON volunteer.
During this 30-minute excursion, you'll explore the remarkable nesting site of Caretta Caretta sea turtles, internationally protected creatures, and gain fascinating insights about their lives.
This walk is part of ARCHELON's comprehensive environmental awareness program, which aims to promote conservation by incorporating environmental interpretation.
Discover the importance of nesting beaches and dunes, as well as the harmonious coexistence between humans and sea turtles.
To participate in the tour, please reserve your seat online. As part of the booking process, it is required to adopt a turtle for €30.
Each group is limited to a maximum of 8 adults and 8 children. Children must be accompanied by their guardians throughout the tour. The activity is suitable for children over 4 years old, as it involves a moderate walk along the beach for approximately 30 minutes.
Don't forget to bring a hat and water to stay comfortable during the tour. The walk will be conducted in English.
The meeting point for the Sea Turtle Beach Walk is in front of the Life Guards Observatory, a short distance from the Sentido Pearl Beach Hotel.
The walk starts at 8:00 am and concludes approximately 30 minutes later on the beach in front of the Camping Elizabeth Taverna.
Reservations are accepted up to 24 hours before the tour's start time, and you can secure your spot up to 10 days in advance.
