On Friday, July 28th, an enchanting musical event awaits featuring four talented performing groups and a captivating dance group.
Eleni and Susanna Vougioukli, a harmonious duo, share one heart and soul within their two bodies. Their vast knowledge of various musical traditions allows them to weave melodies that captivate audiences. Their repertoire encompasses songs from diverse cultures, including rebetika and traditional Greek music in all dialects, Greek-speaking songs from Southern Italy, Balkan tunes, Portuguese fado, Neapolitan, Spanish, Anatolian, Gypsy, American blues, Sephardic, and their own compositions.
Stella Siragaki, a proud and elegant young woman, brings her passion for Cretan music to the stage. Raised surrounded by the sounds of the lyre and lute, she has honed her skills in Byzantine music and collaborated with renowned artists in the field.
Maria Koti, a wonderful performer, showcases traditional songs from her homeland, Crete. Her repertoire ranges from traditional tunes to the soulful melodies of rebetiko, a genre she holds dear. She also masterfully delivers songs from the Mediterranean region to rock music.
Loudovikos Anogeion's songs are infused with a special love for nature, which dominates his performances and touches the hearts of the audience.
Adding to the rich lineup is the dance group "Akrites," led by Fenia Heretis and Pavlos Polioudakis. They offer a fresh perspective on dance, teaching the new generations the pure steps necessary to carry the tradition forward with grace and authenticity.
