 Rizitiko Rassouli Irini

Live music and mesmerizing visuals at Tholos Fortezas

Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM

Rassouli Irini (Venus Volcanism): Musician, Theatrologist
Eleftheria Zanidaki: Visual Artist, FX Designer, Architect

About "Rizitiko":
Venus Volcanism, as Irini Rasouli presents her first solo mini-album "Rizitiko," drawing inspiration from traditional songs of her hometown.

These "Rizitika" songs, some of the oldest in Cretan music, are known for their choral style, created and sung in the White Mountains and later spread to Central Crete.

Irini weaves together repetitive sound patterns, ethereal vocals, synthesizers, and natural sounds from her exploration of Iceland, creating a long journey to the Far North.

Album "Tissue":
The sonic heterotopia of "Tissue" floats between the tangible and surreal, capturing the cyclical patterns of nature and the creator's inner journey of reconciliation with personal scars.

Eleftheria Zanidaki accompanies this musical project with captivating visuals, enhancing the sensory experience.

City of Rethymno

You are invited to travel to areas, which are perhaps still unknown to the majority, and which are sometimes remote, but always magical and magnificent throughout the seasons. We recommend our visitors to see our picturesque villages through the eyes of the soul, try the Cretan cuisine, our wine and “tsikoudia”, participate in our revelries and festivities, but most importantly get to know our soul, our hospitality, the safe, untouched interior of the region, the other Rethymno.
