19:30 - 20:30 The effect of the Mediterranean diet on Cretan Diet
People moving to different places bring valuable memory boxes with them. However, when this change of places become violent, such as the uprooting of refugees from their
homes, then memory, especially food memory, becomes a raft on which they navigate into the unknown. Through the routes of the refugees and the roots they
planted at the new places, including Crete and of course through their own memories the local cuisines were enriched, although the refugees themselves
were not welcome.
Presentation by Marianna Kavroulaki, Experimental Archeologist, Food History Researcher.
